Turn a short script into a usable narration track, then check pronunciation, pacing and publishing requirements before sharing it.

Define the output before choosing a voice
Start with one use case: a short explainer, a podcast introduction or narration for a product demonstration. Decide who will listen, the spoken language, approximate duration and intended channel. This is a workflow guide based on provider documentation, not an independently tested review or a promise of studio-quality results.
Prepare a small script
Write a short introduction, one clear point and a closing sentence. Read it aloud yourself. Break long sentences and expand abbreviations when their spoken form is unclear. Use a non-sensitive sample: “Welcome to our weekly AI update. Today we will show you how to check a source before sharing a headline.” Save a clean copy before editing.
Generate a first sample in ElevenLabs
Open Text to Speech in your ElevenLabs account, enter the script and select an available voice and model. Begin with the default settings and generate a short passage before a longer project. Account options, model access and usage allowances can change, so check the current interface and plan. Do not assume every available voice will suit your language or delivery.
Listen for errors, then change one thing
Check names, dates, abbreviations, pauses and emphasis while following the written script. If a phrase is unclear, rewrite it in a spoken form and regenerate a short segment. When the selected model offers voice settings, adjust one setting at a time and compare the same sentence. Stability affects variation in delivery; a higher value is not automatically a better result. Keep the version that is clearest to your intended audience.
Download and edit the track
The official help page describes downloading a generated file immediately or retrieving it from Text to Speech history. It lists MP3 and WAV options, with further formats under Advanced. Availability can depend on the current product and account. Import your track into an editor, trim silence and align it with your visuals. If you add music, check the music licence and keep the narration intelligible.
Run a publishing check
Listen to the complete export on headphones and a phone speaker. Verify every factual statement in the script, check captions against the audio and review the provider’s current commercial-use terms. Use voices and material you have permission to use; do not impersonate someone or imply their endorsement. Include an AI-voice disclosure when the platform or context requires it.
Measure whether it helped
Record script preparation time, generation attempts, editing time and pronunciation fixes. Compare that total with your existing recording process. A successful short trial is a starting point for deciding whether to use the tool again, not proof that it will work equally well for every language or project.

Illustrative production plan: adjust the timing after listening to your actual narration. These durations are planning targets, not measured audio results.
| Time target | Picture or screen | Voiceover job |
|---|---|---|
| 0–5 seconds | Show the task or question | Tell viewers what they will learn. |
| 5–18 seconds | Show one real action on screen | Explain the action in two short sentences. |
| 18–25 seconds | Show the output and one check | Name a limitation or a detail viewers should verify. |
| 25–30 seconds | Show the relevant guide or next step | Give one clear action, without promising results. |
